WIC Eligibility Calculator (2025-2026)

Quick pre-screen based on federal income limits at 185% of poverty. This is not an official determination; clinics also check residency and nutrition risk.

Alaska and Hawaii use different income limits.

Count everyone who shares income/expenses.

Count unborn babies?
Many states allow adding unborn baby/babies to household size for income screening.

If you get SNAP, Medicaid or TANF, you’re generally income-eligible for WIC (adjunctive).

Enter gross income before taxes for everyone in the household.

WIC requires categorical eligibility, residency, and nutrition risk screening.

What this WIC Calculator uses (latest official sources)

  • Income limits (185% of poverty), effective July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026, including monthly/weekly/bi-weekly/twice-monthly tables for the 48 states/DC, Alaska, and Hawaii, are from USDA FNS WIC Income Eligibility Guidelines (2025–2026) policy memo (published Mar 27, 2025; implements HHS 2025 poverty guidelines).
  • The underlying 2025 HHS Poverty Guidelines (100% poverty; contiguous/AK/HI) were published Jan 17, 2025 in the Federal Register and are the basis for the 185% WIC limits.
  • Adjunctive eligibility (automatic income eligibility if on SNAP, Medicaid or TANF) and categorical/residency/nutrition risk are from USDA FNS WIC eligibility pages.
  • Counting unborn baby/babies toward household size for income screening is widely practiced and documented by multiple state WIC programs. The calculator makes this optional to reflect variations in state policy.
