How to Download the CRA Charity Listing CSV and Filter It in Excel
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Charity Listings are available online as a searchable database. You can also download the complete CSV file of all registered charities in Canada for your own analysis. Here’s how you can download it and filter it using Microsoft Excel.
Step 1: Go to the CRA Charity Listings Website
- Open your web browser and go to: CRA Charities Listings
- Scroll down to find the Charities Listings Downloadable Data section.
Step 2: Download the CSV File
- You will see options for CSV format and sometimes XML.
- Click the CSV file link (it may be large, sometimes 100MB+).
- The file will be downloaded to your computer (usually in the Downloads folder).
Tip: The file name is usually something like Charities.csv or RegisteredCharities.csv.
Step 3: Open the File in Excel
- Locate the downloaded file in your computer.
